“I had long wished to retell this story and originally sought to place it in a contemporary setting, but somehow couldn’t do it. When I moved with my family to the Southwest of France and farmed the land, I felt very strongly that it had a melancholy feeling and later discovered the reason for this. When I learned of the genocide of the Cathars, this unlocked the world of A FALLEN GOD”

A Fallen God
Set in 13th Century France at a time of conflict between the Church of Rome and the rebellious Cathar movement, A Fallen God is a retelling of the myth traditionally known to us as Tristan and Isolde told from the point of view of cuckolded King Marc.
